The Succulent Shirt

I bought this shirt from Zara a few months ago. I always thought it was too bold to wear but, I found the perfect way to style it.
A button up shirt and an all black outfit is the perfect go-to look when you "have nothing to wear".

I tried really hard to find this shirt for you all but I don't think it is made anymore. I really recommend shopping Zara sales whenever you can catch one because they are AMAZING!

Homecoming 2017

Since it is my senior year in high school I decided to go to my first homecoming. I am not quite sure why I never went to homecoming before because, I had the best time!

Homecoming at my school is sort of casual, in case you were wondering why I am not super dressed up. I actually prefer a casual dance because I can dance all night and not be uncomfortable in a long dress. The dress I am wearing was only $50 from Nordstrom Rack but it still has all of the elegance of a designer dress; this is something I love! Another thing I love is the color of the dress. If you read my prom post you can probably tell that I have a thing for blush pink dresses! I also wore the same shoes from my prom look because they are SO comfortable on the dance floor.

I tried my best to link all of the items I am wearing below! I hope that you all enjoyed this look!

Mint Green Sundress

Is this just not the prettiest summer dress ever?! As soon as I bought I was obsessed. I feel like this is such a pretty dress for dinner at the beach or a summer date, since I will be participating in neither of these things I linked it here for you all!
This dress is super affordable and can be worn with so many different looks: Adding a jean jacket and boots would give a fun 2000s fall vibe. A pastel bralette and floral headband would give a trendy boho vibe. A big straw sun hat and a leather satchel would give a fun European traveler vibe.

I can't wait to style this dress in a ton of fun ways! I hope you all enjoyed!

Mood Board #10

(you would not belive what I am going through to write this post... slow wifi sucks!!!)
Anyway...

I always love doing posts like these because they are like virtual vision boards and so aesthetically pleasing to the eye. These posts also give me a way to kind of visualize all of the things that have caught my eye.

1: DAINTY NECKLACES -  Ever since the choker revival of late 2015 there have been so many different types of them. Including the most simplistic and elegant of them all: dainty chokers. Not just chokers all dainty necklaces have really had a glo-up lately and I just love it. I think that these dainty chains of fabulous are so simple that they almost look like a strand of glitter around the neck. They really make any simple outfit look 10x better!

2: LACE-UP HEELS - I never really loved the lace-up trend for myself until I got a pair of lace-up block heels. Honestly I find any excuse to wear them. I don't know what it is about them, maybe the fact that they are extremely comfortable (I kept them on all prom night) or how different they are.

3: SUMMER FLOWERS - Flores, flueres, flowers whatever you want to call them they are just so beautiful, especially in the summer. Some of my favorites are peonies, hydrangeas, and sunflowers. The best thing is when you walk by a flower stand on a sunny day, you best believe I will be taking pictures.

4: HIGH-WAISTED LEGGINGS - Recently I have been really into fitness so I have been going to the gym lately and look at a lot of health videos on YouTube. While doing these things I noticed so many girls in these cute high-waisted leggings with crop tops and I love them! Shortly after becoming obsessed with these super cute leggings I realized that Marshall's has a ton of them for under $20! I just got a pair of black and white ones and I can't wait to wear them to the gym after I write this post!

5: LIGHT GREEN BLOUSES - Am I the only one that remembers when EVERY person on YouTube was obsessed with mint green? Well, I feel like light green is making a comeback. My Pinterest feed is filled with so many cute light green blouses and dresses and I just love it! I even purchased a light green dress myself (on the blog soon).

So that's all for today's Mood Board I hope you enjoyed!

Stylish Sneakers

  1. casual, comfortable clothing designed to be suitable both for exercise and everyday wear.

    "athleisure is perfect for traveling"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Athleisure is HUGE in fashion right now and I love it! I love the ideas of mixing comfy workout gear with chic styles. So, today I put together a list of some of my favorite athleisure shoes perfect for the gym of the streets.

1. VANS SUEDE MOCK SHOES - These sneakers are perfect for any girl that can't exactly pull off the skater look of Vans. I love the fringe on the back of these shoes so much. They are just so cute!

2. SK8-HI VANS - I purchased these Vans a few weeks ago out of pure spontaneity. I didn't really think I would like them as much as I do but, I wear these shoes everywhere. They are so simple and easy to throw on with just about and casual outfit. I also really like the low top version of these shoes.

3. NIKE AIR MAX THEA - I love the color of these shoes in "Camo". I think that nude sneakers are so unique and simply fashionable. These sneakers would look great with light wash ripped jeans, a white tee, a cute cardigan, and some sunglasses.

4. PUMA BASKET SHOES - These shoes are so spring! I love the color and the platform of these shoes so much. They are so unique!

5. ADIDAS BOOST - I love love love these sneakers, especially in the taupe color shown above! I am really thinking about making these my next sneaker purchase! These are probably the most athletic sneakers of the list today. They look so cute with workout gear!

Thank you so much for reading!

Cold Shoulder Shirt & Spring Transition Outfit

Spring is just around the corner, or if you live in Georgia like me it's already here. I have such a difficult time finding outfits to wear during changing seasons. This outfit is a really great idea for spring transitioning.

I purchased this pretty cold shoulder top from Shein last summer. This top is so cute and is also a nice jersey material that is lightweight and comfortable. In addition to the top, I wore a pair of suede boots and my favorite ripped jeans.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Thanks for visiting!

February Playlist & Life Update

Happy Saturday my friends!
I hope you are all having a wonderful day!  Today I am sharing this month's Spotify playlist on the blog and a little life update.

Ever since the start of second semester school has kept me incredibly busy and stressed. I have not been as active here on the blog or on my Instagram due to this. Feeling stressed is never really something I like. Stress makes me lose sight of so many things in order to keep one thing going. This one thing was school.

I always think it's important to take time for yourself, even if it's something small like going to get Starbucks. Taking time for myself is one of the ways I stay in control of my life and not lose my mind. However, with so much school work I didn't really do this. I also did not take time for my blog. My outlet for all things hectic!

However, now that school has slowed down to a reasonable pace and I am on winter break. I am so excited to work on the blog and do all of the things I love! I actually just finished writing down a LONG list of blog post ideas and I cannot wait to get started on new projects!

I hope you enjoy your day, this playlist, and your life!

Valentine's Day Outfit featuring ED by Ellen

Hello my friends!
Today I am sharing a fun Valentine's look with you all!

It's not secret that I LOVE ED by Ellen and this sweater is no exception. I received this sweater for Christmas and I have been waiting for the perfect time to wear it. This sweater is not only adorable but also super soft and quality.

My love flats were obviously the perfect shoes for this outfit. I decided on a jean shirt under the sweater instead of plaid to make the look a little less Christmas-y. When I actually wear the right size in these jeans (lol), they are my absolute favorites.

I love how simple and classic this look is. You can definitely re-create it with items already in your closet as well!

I hope you all have a fabulous Valentine's Day!

Faux Fur Vest & Flare Jeans

Flare jeans have never really been my thing, until I received this fabulous pair from a company called Angels Forever Young. These jeans are so flattering and comfortable. I've been wearing so much lately with my favorite suede boots.

It is finally a little colder here in Georgia so I decided to add a fun faux fur vest and a cream cowl neck top. I have really been into monochromatic outfits lately! To tie the look all together I added my favorite Quay Australia sunglasses!

Thank you so much for reading, have a great day!

January Playlist

Happy weekend friends!
Today I have my monthly Spotify playlist! As we all know this month was the start of a new year; a new year means new music. I really tried to put together a list of songs that had some new music and some older songs to back them up!

Ed Sheeran released some new music this month and for some reason Shape of You sounds just like Miss Independent by Ne-Yo to me!

Anyways I hope you enjoy this playlist as much as I do!

Until next time,

January Inspiration Board

Every month I make an inpiration board in my room and usually share it on my Instagram. You all really seem to enjoy it a lot so I decided to share my inspiration board here on the blog and go into a little more detail.

My "theme" I was going for on this month's inspo board was neutral tones and classic pictures.
PROGRESS NOT PERFECTION - I found this quote on Pinterest and it really stuck with me so I printed it out and pinned it on there. As I am writing this post I am about to enter my last semester of high school before college applications. This quote is a reminder that I cannot be perfect but I can try my best. {photo via Pinterest}
TRAVEL - I found out last week that I am going to Mexico for spring break and this little graphic was perfect for this month's board!

DENIM SKIRT - Even though I am not the biggest fan of denim skirts I thought that this frayed hemline skirt was absolutely adorable! This photo also went well with the neutral theme I was going for. {photo via Pinterest}

2017 CALENDAR - I always see really creative ways to make calendars on Pinterest so I decided to try out my own calendar. This is just a page I ripped out from my 2016 planner. I plan to keep this calendar up on the board all year long!

GLASSES - I just kind of liked these tortoise glasses. I feel like they're so photogenic and remind me of Lily from Gossip Girl!  {photo via Pinterest}

LADY IN CAMEL COAT - I just love a good trench coat! This lady is killing it! {photo via J. Crew style guide}

EVERYTHING ELSE - The rest of the things on this board just goes along with the theme I didn't really put these things on here for any particular reason (except for maybe the ED stationary becaue they regrammed me this week!!!!!).

I hoped you enjoyed this post. It was so fun to make this month's board; look forward to more posts like this each month!

Athens: Day In My Life

A few days ago my mom and I took a little day trip to Athens (Georgia not Greece), while we were there I snapped some photos to share will you!

COFFEE: Our first stop was a cute little coffee shop called Two Story. Everytime I go to another city I love to find a coffee shop to go to. After seeing Brooke Miccio's photos here I knew I wanted to visit!
This latte was not only SO SO pretty but, it was also really good, even though it left me all jittery later in the day!

SHOPPING TIME: I spent a couple of days in Athens this past summer at a camp but I didn't really get to explore the town the way I wanted to AKA go shopping. Athens has so many unique boutiques and shops to visit. This day I visited Urban Outfitters, Fringe, Pitaya, & the Indigo Child

(this cute floor tile reminded me of a picture from Glossier)

THE TOWN: I snapped a few cool shots of Athens outside of the shops.

(look for this outfit post in the near future!)

LUNCH: I don't know why but I didn't take photos of where we ate for lunch because it was the best part! We ate at a Latin American restaurant called Cal and Tito's and it was honestly the best Latin American food I've ever had. The restaurant itself also has super cool decor and a fountain on the inside!

I hope you enjoyed the Day In My Life Athens Edition! Athens is such a cool town and I hope to visit again soon!

Until next time!

xoxo Kayla
